Sockt

Sockt API and MCP tools

Look up domains, search by technology and export lists from your own code with a Sockt API key, or let a Raq.com agent do the same work through MCP. The web app, API and MCP draw on one shared quota.

Authentication

Make an API key on your Sockt plan page in Raq.com and send it as a bearer token, or in an X-API-Key header. A key is yours, works only for the account it was made in and uses that account's Sockt plan and limits. Keys can start exports unless you turn that off when you make one.

The base URL is https://raq.com/api/v1/sockt. Requests and responses are JSON: results come back under data, and errors as error with a code and a message. Domains can be typed with or without www., a path or a scheme: Sockt reduces them to the registered domain.

Company details are AI estimates and are labelled as estimates. The evidence behind each detection is shown only in the Sockt app in Raq.com, never through the API.

Example with demo data
curl https://raq.com/api/v1/sockt/domains/northfield-coffee.co.uk \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $RAQ_TOKEN"

MCP tools

Raq.com agents, and any MCP client connected to your Raq.com account, can call these tools. They use the same quota as the web app and API, and an agent can pass the results to Raq.com CRM or a task.

Limits and errors

Paid plans have a monthly allowance of API lookups and exported domains. A website returned by a search or an export counts once a month, however often you fetch it. When an allowance runs out, requests that need it return HTTP 429 with the code limit_reached, the allowance, its limit and when it resets. Counts, the technology catalogue, usage, lists and export status are free on every plan.

Lookups, searches and exports have a lower per-minute limit than the free reads. Too many requests in a short time return HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header. A website whose owner asked to be removed returns 410 with the code removed.
